FROM EZYEDUCATION TO EZY EDTECH
It is with a sad heart that I write this blog post.
During the pandemic, the revenue growth for our business stalled at a crucial point in our commercialisation phase. As a result, we were not able to balance the books and needed to liquidate EzyEducation Ltd via a Creditor’s Voluntary Liquidation. This means the rights to virtually all domain and course assets have been sold to Ezy Edtech Ltd. As a result, the platform can restart from a strong financial position with a far more certain future.
I am enormously grateful to Shabac Cabdilahi (founder of The Local Teachers) who has acquired the rights to the EzyEducation Ltd assets and will restart the service with the aim of achieving this without any disruption. The name of the business he established is Ezy Edtech Ltd. Shabac is the principal reason for the continuation of course availability. The outcome would have been different without his intervention.
Throughout this process (from early December) we have maintained normal service to avoid customer experience disruption. The only issue during this period was that we could not trade. As soon as various new bank accounts become operational acceptance of payments can recommence. Ezy Edtech Ltd will contact any schools that have outstanding payments as soon as we are able to receive payments.
Although we will navigate the next few months with minimum disruption, there will be a few changes (none of these will disrupt service availability).
- I will continue to support the business providing technical support and ensuring customer experience does not drop during the transition. I will not be an officer of Ezy Edtech Ltd but will support Shabac Cabdilahi on a consultancy basis. It is hoped that all other key employees will be retained. The successful transition with key suppliers has already commenced without issues.
- There will be no changes to the subscription cycle. This means Ezy Edtech Ltd will maintain course access uninterrupted until the renewal date for each school. The process of the first quotations and renewals will start in April 2022.
- As Ezy Edtech Ltd is a separate legal entity, and EzyEducation Ltd will cease to exist, the terms, privacy statement and other related documents will be changed to reflect this. Schools will need to accept terms to renew existing subscriptions (apart from some small edits, there will not be any significant contractual changes).
- There will also be some changes to branding, domain names and EzyEducation email addresses.
Over the last 7 years EzyEducation has strived to deliver a great and continuously improving experience for schools. With the continued support from schools, Ezy Edtech will pick up form where EzyEducation finished will continue with this approach to modernise learning with support which is focussed on supporting teachers and taking the heat out of teaching.
Finally, I would like to thank all our school users. Your support has been crucial in helping to develop the EzyEducation platform. The new platform owner looks forward to the opportunity to continue supporting your schools/colleges. Please maintain your support for the service as this will be critical in the transition to new ownership
Shabac will follow up soon with a further communication concerning his ambitious plans for the EzyEducation platform.
