User Guide for Students
This page provides guidance for school students. It is designed to provide a full explanation of the functionality available and answer many of the FAQs that we receive. We recommend that new users open each of the sections below before commencing activity. If you have a more specific enquiry please make contact with us by using the live chat option on our page or by phoning us on 01329 285415.
Main Functions
As a school student, your teacher will add you to the service to give you full access to our GCSE Maths resources. We provide end to end syllabus coverage for the three main exam boards (AQA, Edexcel and OCR) in the form of lecture videos and assessments. Each lecture video is followed by at least one assessment, and every single question in each assessment provides you with feedback to help enhance your learning.
Course Structure
The GCSE Maths courses are broken down into the 6 key topics in the syllabus (Algebra, Number, Graphs, Ratios, Geometry and Probability & Statistics). Within these sections we break down the content into modules and units. The content of each unit is covered in the form of lecture videos, each of which is followed by at least one assessment. Assessments can be taken any number of times and for each repeat attempt the order of questions and answers will be randomized.
Getting Started
After signing in the homepage will appear. There are 2 main options contained in the homepage:
- Access to the Maths courses
- Gradebook - this is where you can view your activity and results to help you monitor your progress
EzyMaths News
This is the EzyMaths video blog where we will post regular, throught provoking content related to GCSE maths.
Digital Records
The system records every action taken by every user. Your teacher has access to the data for all users within your school group. The system records:
- Duration of time spent on any given activity (quizzes and videos)
- The user answer and correct answer for every quiz question attempted, together with the total score and grade achieved on each quiz attempt
- The system also records all duplicate attempts
Gradebook
Once you enter the maths learning zone you will be able to access your gradebook. To do this, simply select 'gradebook' in the right-hand menu. This will take you to the page shown below, which shows the results you attained in your most recent attempt at each quiz. To view a more detailed and colour coded version of your gradebook to help you easily pinpoint weaker areas you can select the PDF gradebook download option at the top of the page.
Within the gradebook page you also have the option to view 'quiz outcomes'. This page gives a breakdown of the data generated by each of your attempts at a quiz including your score and time spent on each attempt.
